Also on many motherboards with Intel chipsets from this era you can set the individual IRQ lines going to various slots to either auto assign, or assign specific IRQ levels. EAX sounded like a few canned effects that would just switch on and off.

However, I ended up doing something that looked silly but in fact worked. No directionality, no sound textures, nothing.
For example, in Prey or CS if there are some enemies in the next room making noise, you’ll hear them quieter or not at all. It’s my good old 4. The SoundBlaster Pro was the first stereo card.

Go read the documents your self, read what Environmental Reflections does, and compare it to the wave-tracing descriptions done my Aureal, they read fairly similarly. I went back and installed Medal of Honor: On the Hunted map – you could hear where the sniper shot came from, and hear it whistle past you.

Aureal A3D Central – Drivers
Turtle Beach Montego with digital or optical add-on boards. It did for sound qureal the Voodoo did for graphics, and what the Gravis Ultrasound previously did to the SoundBlaster. It’s a wonderful soundcard, but it doesn’t do A3D v2. It was already configured for SB from my previous tests though.

I disabled and uninstalled the C-Media stuff, uninstalled the Aureal Vortex 2 drivers, rebooted Since Creative clearly didn’t give a monkeys, the Microsoft dev team managed to get hold of the source and write proper, native drivers for XP.
Anyways Creative is the vrtex pusher of OpenAL. Aurral guess I can’t blame anyone for not having decade old drivers
